In the chairperson strength test, Selvi got 14 votes in the election, while the Congress alliance candidate got only 10 votes. With this, TDP leader Selvi won as Port Blair Municipal Chairman.
On the other hand, BJP National President JP Nadda expressed happiness over the victory of the BJP-TDP alliance candidate. He tweeted congratulating the BJP-TDP alliance for its resounding victory in the Port Blair Municipal Council elections. This victory is proof of people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that he worked hard for the people of Port Blair and it paid off.
Meanwhile, the BJP-TDP alliance has become a topic of discussion when elections are going to be held in Andhra Pradesh next year. After the 2019 elections, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu extended the hand of friendship to the BJP many times. In his tweet on Tuesday, he also mentioned that people have a lot of faith in the TDP-BJP alliance. Thus, it seems that Chandrababu is interested in an alliance with the BJP.
