Danny Jansen hit a three-run homer in 10e inning to give the Toronto Blue Jays a 3-0 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday.
His fourth homer of the season was hit against Yankees left-hander Wandy Peralta (2-1).
Jordan Romano (3-2) played two sets for the win. The Blue Jays (25-18) have won seven of their last 11 games. The Yankees (25-20), who have won the first two games of the four-game series, have lost three of their last 10 games.
The Blue Jays left 14 runners on base, but the Yankees also missed a few opportunities by dropping 10 runners.
The Yankees put two players in scoring position in the extra inning, but Romano struck out Rizzo to end the argument.
First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. missed the game to recover from stiff right knee.
Guerrero was injured Tuesday night at Rogers Center, grabbing a drop shot. And although a magnetic resonance imaging test revealed no structural damage, treatments were on the agenda Wednesday, manager John Schneider said.
Guerrero is batting for .312 this season, with seven homers and 26 RBIs. The star batter is usually third in the batting lineup.
