Manipur. The wife of a former MLA died in a bomb blast in Kangpokpi district of Manipur on Saturday. Police said the incident took place near the house of former Saikhul MLA Yamthong Haokip. The former MLA’s wife Sapam Charubala, who was injured in the bomb blast, died in the hospital.
However, it is not known who planted the bomb. The police is investigating the matter. Let us tell you that Sapam Charubala was the second wife of the former MLA. Giving information about this incident, the officials further said that Sapam Charubala was injured in the bomb blast and was taken to a health facility in Saikul, after which she died.
For information, let us tell you that 59-year-old Charubala (Sapam Charubala) Haokip belonged to the Meitei community. She lived in Ekou Mulam in the Kuki-Zomi-dominated Kangpokpi district. Haokip was also in his house when the bomb blast occurred but he did not get hurt in this incident. On August 9, four people died in firing in Molnom area of Tengnoupal district.
Police said that the firing took place between the village volunteers and members of the militant organization United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF). One militant and 3 volunteers were killed in this. Angry people set fire to the house of UKLF president SS Haokip. However, the situation is under control now. No arrest has been made in the case so far.
