The federal government has announced that Indians traveling abroad will not have to wait 9 months from the second dose to receive the corona booster vaccine. The relaxation has been welcomed by expatriates and students.
In India, those who have been vaccinated with two doses of corona vaccine are allowed to take the precautionary dose after 9 months.
But in a few foreign countries the interval between the third and precautionary dose is less. It has therefore been suggested that Indians going abroad, Indian students can pay the third dose depending on what kind of interval is followed in the country they are going to.
In this regard, the Union Minister of Health Dr. Mansuk Mandavia today posted on his Goo App page, “Indians and Indian students can pay the third dose according to the type of interval followed in the country they are going to. The facility for this will be made available soon on the CoWIN site”.
It is noteworthy that NITGAI (NITGAI), the technical advisory body for the National Vaccine Program, has been urging everyone to reduce the precautionary dose vaccination interval from 9 months to 6 months.
