The Association of Scholars of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina held a traditional iftar tonight at the House of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anadolia reports.
The iftar was attended by the representative of the reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community and the director of the Religious Affairs Directorate of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community, Hafiz Mensur ef. Malkić, president of the Association of Scientists Nesib ef. Hadžić, president of the Assembly of the Association of Scientists Safet ef. Karahmetović, military mufti Hadis ef. Pašalić, Acting Minister for War Veterans and Invalids of the Defense and Liberation War in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirza Terzo and numerous other guests.
“I am glad that I am present at this iftar tonight and I am glad that there are many imams among us, who burn on the field for the benefit of the Islamic community. Improving the status of imams is one of the priority goals of the Association of Scholars, but also one of the goals of the Islamic community. The association can expect support, both for that goal and for other hairli projects. I ask God to give us Muslims in BiH as much success as possible in our homeland,” said Hafiz Mensur ef. Malkic.
As stated by the president of the Association of Scholars Nesib ef. Hadžić, this iftar has its own significant dimension, both for the members of the association and for all those who support the work.
“With this iftar, we want to share the joy of the iftar moment, to smile when breaking the fast to those who are dear to us, to share pleasant moments. Through these iftars, through the activities we have been doing lately, we want to ‘conquer’ our space, as in the Islamic community, as well as in society outside the community. Imams are social persons, our congregations are made up of people from various segments of society,” said Hadžić.
He added that the Association of Scholars wants to be recognized not only within the Islamic community, but also in society in general.
“After the month of Ramadan, we will organize a gathering for imams who are members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is how we want to draw attention to them, as we recently drew attention to imams who played an important role in the return process,” said Hadžić.
President of the Assembly of the Association of Scholars Safet ef. Karahmetović expressed joy and satisfaction about this iftar.
“For me, as the president of the Assembly and as an imam from the smaller entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, these kinds of gatherings are a special pleasure to exchange experiences together, with the same goal, and in worship, and to try to improve ourselves further,” Karahmetović said.
In the end, the prayer was recited by Ismail ef. Smajlović, director of the Student Center of the Islamic Community.
