Brazilian media confirmed that Botafogo Club has signed player Alan Marques Loureiro from Al Wahda Club in a free transfer deal after the end of the current season.
Globo newspaper said that the Brazilian club continued to shop in the ADNOC Professional League, after previously signing the player Igor Jesus from Shabab Al-Ahly, before reaching an agreement with the Al-Wahda midfielder to join its ranks starting next July.
She pointed out that Botafogo tried to sign Alan and Jesus during the last winter transfer period, but Al-Wahda and Shabab Al-Ahly refused to dispense with their services, so they could continue the season until its end.
She added: “The club management revealed the new general budget, which included documents and details of the financial operations for player transfers that will be announced during the summer transfer period.”
She continued: “It was previously revealed that Igor Jesus, who grew up in Curitiba and moved to Shabab Al-Ahly, signed a contract to join Botafogo until 2027, while the document included confirmation that Alan signed a contract stipulating that he would play for the Brazilian club until December 2026.”
She continued: “The contracts for the two players will enter into force on the first of next July, but they can officially play with the team on the 10th of the same month, which is the date on which registration of new deals opens for the second period of the player transfer market in Brazil.”
It is noteworthy that Igor Jesus’ contract with Shabab Al-Ahly expires next June, as the club’s management did not renew the contract of the player who joined the team in 2020 coming from the Brazilian Curitiba for two million euros, while Allan Marques Loureiro joined Al-Wahda in September 2022 coming from the English club Everton with an extended contract. Until June 2024, the “Annabi” management also did not renew the Brazilian player’s contract.
