Russian boxer Dmitry Kudryashov spoke about his impressions of the fight between Artur Beterbiev and British Anthony Yarde.
Despite the fact that Beterbiev justified the predictions and won ahead of schedule, the fight turned out to be valid for Kudryashov and made him nervous at some points.
“Everyone boxes as much as the opponent allows. Yard was the one who created problems, so at some points it was alarming, ”the athlete told Izvestia journalists on January 29.
Kudryashov noted that he wanted Beterbiev to act more confidently in those moments when he gave the initiative. However, it is difficult to judge him from the position of a spectator, not knowing about the preparation of the boxer and his feelings during the fight.
“It’s great that everything turned out this way, and Artur found and used his chance,” Kudryashov summed up.
On January 29, Beterbiev defeated Anthony Yarde for the WBC, IBF and WBO light heavyweight championship belts and defended three world boxing titles. Beterbiev defeated Yard by technical knockout in the eighth round.
Beterbiev has 19 wins (all by knockout) in 19 fights in his professional career. The 38-year-old boxer defended the IBF championship belt for the seventh time, the WBC title for the fourth time and for the first time he defended the WBO title.
In June last year, Beterbiev announced his readiness to fight Dmitry Bivol for the title of undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world. This became possible after a week before he confidently defeated the American Joe Smith.
