Al Nasr head coach Luis Castro has previously revealed that they need to build a team around Cristiano Ronaldo. As part of the effort for that, Al Alami is preparing to acquire the Brazilian superstar.
Al Nasser FC is close to signing Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro.
According to the latest report, Casemiro will join the Saudi Arabian club this coming summer transfer window. It is also reported that the Brazilian player will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Riyadh club. If so, the actor will remain in Saudi Arabia until the end of 2026. However, there is no official confirmation about this yet.
31-year-old Casemiro is currently a player for English Premier League club Manchester United FC. Casemiro arrived at Manchester United in August 2022. Made a total of 63 appearances for the club known as the Red Devils. Owned 11 goals. He also made seven assists. It was Casemiro who helped Manchester United win the Carabao Cup (English League Cup) last season. Another fact is that the Brazilian player currently has a contract with Manchester United FC till June 2026.
Casemiro was sidelined for most of the 2023–2024 season due to injury. The Brazilian defensive midfielder has lost 16 matches in various competitions this season. Reaching Saudi Arabia will pave the way for Cristiano Ronaldo-Casemiro reunion. The duo played together in Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid from 2013 to 2018. Together they have won 11 trophies including the UEFA Champions League. Cristiano and Casemiro also played together in Manchester United FC. It was during the 2022-2023 season.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in great form this season with 20 goals and nine assists in the Saudi Pro League. However, the truth is that CR7 does not get the best midfield support. Casemiro was eyed by Al-Alami early on to solve this problem. The Brazilian played a total of 566 matches in his club career and scored 58 goals.
