Manchester United revived a glimmer of hope for its traditional rivals, Liverpool, to be among the first four places in the English Premier League table, qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Manchester United fell into the trap of losing 0-1 against its host Brighton, on Thursday evening, in a postponed match from the 28th stage of the competition.
Argentine Alexis McAllister wore a dress of excellence in the meeting, after scoring Brighton’s only goal from a penalty kick, in the ninth minute of calculated time instead of lost for the second half.
With that result, Manchester United remained in fourth place with 63 points from 33 matches, ahead of only 4 points over fifth-placed Liverpool, who played 34 matches, and has only 4 matches remaining at the end of its championship matches.
On the other hand, Brighton raised its score to 55 points in sixth place, after playing 32 games, to revive its chances of ascending to the Champions League.
