The public has known Bruno Pinasco for years, they have learned about the world of cinema by watching him present his program on weekends, but now they are getting to know a new side of him: that of a writer. The popular TV host made his leap into the literary world in 2023 with his debut novel, Tea Shop ‘, and this year the second part premieres.
The Republic spoke exclusively with the figure of America Television about his new literary work, about the success of ‘Cinescape ‘, which celebrates its 25th anniversary next year, and his future plans in his long television career.
Bruno Pinasco welcomes us smiling and affectionate in a well-known bookstore in the capital that seems to imitate the same cozy vibes that his novel emanates. With his striking enthusiasm, he arranges everything he needs to be able to pour himself a cup of tea before starting the interview. Something that should not surprise us considering that he drinks 6 cups of tea a day and that it was this topic that steals the show in the pages of his book.
“My family is a coffee lover, unlike me, but I never succumbed to it,” he revealed. “People may not believe it, but tea has been in some of the most important moments in history,” he added.
The beginnings of Bruno Pinasco in the literary world
One of the most striking things about Tea Shop It is the way the book is presented. Although it is not a graphic novel, it is evident that the drawings and art captured on its pages become as important as the text itself. The son of ‘Rulito’ Pinasco reveals that this creative decision is due to his love for audiovisuals, a branch in which he has spent his entire artistic career.
The writer stated that he has been able to feel the affection of the public in the literary events in which he has participated, one of them being a conversation at the FIL LIMA 2024 . “I could feel the support and endorsement of the LGTBIQ community, which also feels incredible. They tell me how excited they are about the novel,” he declared.

Although the protagonist of the novel, Grey, has very similar personality traits to Bruno (they both love tea, have a particular taste for movies, series, classical music and are part of the LGTBIQ community), Pinasco He quickly clarifies that this is not an autobiography.
“It is not based on real events, it is not an autobiography, it is fiction. All the characters have something of me,” says the presenter. However, when we asked him why he decided to make a gay romance the center of the novel, he added that this decision is because “you write about what you know.”
And it’s definitely a winning formula. Not only because of the beautiful inclusion shown in the story, something celebrated especially by its target audience: the youth audience, but it also seems to have convinced its publisher, to the point that Bruno tells us that he already has the green light to release a third part.

Bruno Pinasco and the success of ‘Cinescape’
Added to the great reception of his first novel and its subsequent sequel, Bruno Pinasco has many reasons to celebrate. ‘Cinescape ‘, the program that has been the greatest connection that Peruvians have with the world of hollywood celebrates 25 years on the air, a milestone for national television.
“We celebrate 25 years in 2025. It is already confirmed that we will continue in 2025 on América Televisión. I have nothing more to express my gratitude and affection to all the people who have been with us through the screen in these 25 years. “We have known how to adapt and evolve over time, always having great passion and love for what we do,” he revealed.
Regarding the future of his classic program, Bruno surprises and affirms that, beyond 2025, he does not know if ‘Cinescape ‘ will continue on the screens. “I have a cool project that I am preparing with América Televisión, which excites me… I don’t know if I see an end to Cinescape, but maybe reaching a point of evolution. I would like to try new things, try new challenges,” he admitted.
