Amritsar: Amritsar (Rural) SSP Swaban Sharma yesterday said: On the night of the 21st, the police informed the BSF soldiers after seeing a drone trying to enter the Indian airspace from the Pakistani side of the Punjab border. The drone was later shot down by the BSF soldiers. They also seized 5 kg of heroin from it. Sharma said.
The downed drone was made with spare parts from the US and China. It has a camera and GPS and is priced at Rs 10 lakh. Police surrounded and arrested 2 people who tried to flee from the scene. A case has been registered against them under Sections 21, 23 and 28 of the Prevention of Narcotics Trafficking Act.
