New Delhi. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has called for a nationwide demonstration on December 24 against the remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Baba Saheb Ambedkar. In a post on Instagram, Mayawati said that Shah’s comments have hurt people’s hearts.
She (Mayawati) said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the author of the original book, is revered like God as a superhuman and welfare constitution for the self-respect and human rights of the Dalits, deprived and other neglected people of the country. Amit Shah’s disrespect to him hurts people’s hearts. He demanded that the Home Minister withdraw his statement.
Mayawati said, people from all sections of the country are very angry and upset with the words spoken by him in the Parliament about such a great man. Ambedkarite BSP has demanded him to withdraw his statement and repent, which has not been implemented till now. In such a situation, if the demand is not met then BSP has said that it will raise its voice across the country. That is why now the party has decided to organize a nationwide agitation on 24th December in support of this demand. On that day, completely peaceful protests will be held at all the district headquarters of the country.
BSP chief (Mayawati) said that her party is dedicated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar, who struggled throughout his life to make the deprived/Bahujans stand on their feet and live with self-respect and provided them many legal rights including reservation. He said, therefore, if Congress, BJP etc. parties cannot respect Baba Saheb wholeheartedly, then they should not disrespect him either.
