43-year-old Satendra Singh used to visit car servicing centers frequently. He used to talk well with the staff working there.. he would tame them. When he felt that they had come his way, he would know the chassis numbers and engine numbers of the cars that had come for servicing from them. In this order, he installed GPS in the OBD ports used to diagnose the performance of the cars and tracked where the car was going.
After confirming that the owners of the cars have parked them somewhere else than their house… Darjaga would book a cab and go there. He would slowly go to the car, break the window glass, start the car with the ‘key’ he had and drive away. Before taking out the car, he used to sweep the broken window glass pieces clean.. without any evidence there.
You will have a doubt where Shekhawat’s car key is. Did we mention that he used to know the chassis number and engine number of the car with the help of the service center staff? With the help of those two, he would get the car key. For example, if someone’s car key is missing, they can go to the dealer and get another key. But if you want to take the key from the dealer, you have to show documents like driving license and Aadhaar card along with the registration documents. But it remains to be seen how Shekhawat managed the dealers.
After getting hold of the car key.. went to the car in the cab.. after making sure no one was watching.. started it and drove away.. Lawrence Bishnoi used to sell it to the gang members. Apart from his home state Rajasthan, Shekhawat also stole and sold cars in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana and Karnataka. Shekhawat is not interested in smashing cars. He targets SVUs. He was jailed for a year in Telangana. He was released from Karnataka jail a year ago.
On December 28, 2023, a man named Narendra Nath Shukla of Vipul Khand area lodged a complaint with the Lucknow Police that his Fortuner car parked in front of his house was stolen during the night. After this, the police entered the field, conducted an investigation and arrested Shekawat. During the investigation, he told the police that on November 22 last year, he stole a black SUV from Lucknow’s Darulshafa, and five days later, he stole another white SUV from Telibagh. Lucknow East Additional DCP Qasim Abidi said that Shekawat had stolen more than a hundred cars since 2002.
If we consider the manner in which Shekhawat committed the thefts, there are suspicions that the people working in the servicing centers and the car dealers also cooperated with him. After knowing the chassis and engine numbers of the car… and hitting them with the help of GPS… you can understand the level of his intelligence. If you have a car, be careful if you are giving it for servicing..!
