Building Collapses In China, 23 People Under Rubble

There was a terrible accident in China. The eight-story building collapsed. With that, many were trapped under the rubble. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in the city of Changsha in Hunan Province. 23 people were trapped under the rubble. 39 people were abducted. To this extent local police and firefighters rescued some of the survivors.

Rescue crews rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations. No casualties have been reported so far, but five have been rescued, city officials said. Authorities also confirmed that an eight-story building had collapsed. Firefighters are removing metal and concrete slabs to protect victims. Some of the injured are being evacuated from narrow alleys.

It was not immediately clear why the building collapsed. However, some believe that the occupants of the building have undergone structural changes at various levels, which is why this has happened. President Jinping has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the real cause of the disaster.

In January, a building collapsed in Chongqing due to a gas leak. More than a dozen people were killed in the incident. Also in June 2021, a gas explosion at a residential compound in Xi’an killed 25 people.
