VSoon another stone will be added to the crown of glory of Bhagyanagaram, which is growing as a city. A bullet train will run from Hyderabad. The Center is working to start a bullet train between the financial capital of the country, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The project has already been approved by the Maharashtra government along with the Centre. The process of land acquisition for this project in Thane district is also ready. Large scale land acquisition will be required in Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts of Telangana. Officials of the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which has proposed this railway project, recently held a meeting with the officials of the Sangareddy Collectorate here. The land acquisition required for this project was discussed. Aerial survey will be conducted soon and DPR will be prepared. If the DPR is approved.. this bullet train project will take off.

The distance between Hyderabad and Mumbai is 711 km. At present even the fastest trains take 12 to 14 hours to reach this distance. Traveling by road (700 km) between these cities takes almost the same amount of time. If the bullet train becomes available, the travel time will be reduced significantly. It can be reached from one side to the other in just 3 hours.

Highlights:
✦ Ministry of Railways has proposed a total of 8 bullet train routes in the country. Mumbai – Pune – Hyderabad is one of them.

✦ Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad bullet train route will have 11 stations. They are: 1) Navi Mumbai 2) Lonavala 3) Pune 4) Baramati 5) Kurkumb (Daund) 6) Akluj 7) Pandharpur 8) Solapur 9) Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) 10) Vikarabad 11) Hyderabad

✦ High speed track has to be constructed for this project between Kollur in Sangareddy district of Telangana and Thane in Maharashtra.

✦ Work is being done to start bullet train with first 10 coaches on this route.

✦ Bullet train travels at 320 km per hour. Travels at maximum speed. The existing track cannot withstand this speed. A special track will have to be constructed for this. Moreover, 70 percent of the proposed route is high speed rail corridor.

✦ NHSRCCL has proposed that a total of 1198 acres of land will be required for this ambitious project.

✦ If the bullet train is available on this route, the travel time will be reduced to 3 hours from the current 14 hours. It not only saves a lot of time but also helps in economic development. Officials believe that the appearance of these areas will change.

✦ Central government is working to make the first bullet train available in the country by 2026.

✦ The first bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad cities in the country has been proposed. The land acquisition process for this project has been completed and tenders have also been invited.

The aerial distance between the cities of Mumbai and Hyderabad is 621 km. Officials are conducting aerial survey for this project in Tandoor and Vikarabad areas. After completing Google mapping by connecting 11 stations, aerial survey will be conducted once again. It is estimated that this project, which will be undertaken under the PPP method, will cost more than one lakh crores.
