India have selected Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami, Umran Malik and Arshadeep Singh for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be held in Guwahati on January 10. Bumrah’s arrival will certainly strengthen the Indian team in the context of the start of the four-Test series in Australia next month.
Bumrah has been facing back problems since 2019. At that time a mine stress fracture occurred. As a result, he missed the game for three months. Bumrah could not play Asia Cup in 2022 due to back problem. BCCI has also included Bumrah’s name in the team announced for the T20 World Cup. Although he was expected to be fit by the start of the tournament, Bumrah did not recover. With this, Mohammad Shami has been announced as a replacement for the T20 World Cup.
Bumrah, who recently recovered from his injury, started practicing. Bumrah’s appearance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka will serve as a practice for him before the Test series against Australia.
