Indian tycoon Gautam Adani’s Adani Group has been accused by US firm Hindenberg of financial irregularities. Following this, the value of the Adani Group fell by $100 billion. In this case, the comment made by the Hungarian American businessman George Soares has caused controversy.
George Soares has said that the turmoil in Adani’s business empire has shaken the confidence that India is a good place to invest, and it will create an opportunity for a democratic renaissance in India.
Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani has strongly condemned his comments and said that George Soares is not only blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he is also criticizing the Indian democratic system. Smriti Irani has also said that he has created a fund of 100 billion dollars to destroy the democratic system in countries like India.
Smriti Irani asserted that George Soros is working to destroy the existing democracy in India and to install people who are favorable to him in the government, and everyone should oppose this with one voice regardless of party affiliation.
