Ethiopian runner Buteh Gemechu was crowned champion of the 2025 Dubai Marathon in the men’s category, while his compatriot Bedato Hirba won the women’s category race, which was held early Sunday morning.
Bote Gemisho won the men’s race, recording a time of 02:04:50, while Pedato Hirba won after completing the required distance in a time of 02:18:27.
The 2025 Dubai Marathon was held, with the participation of 63 male and female runners from the elite world record holders and winners of the most famous marathons in the world, in the 24th edition, under the sponsorship of the Dubai Sports Council.
The marathon included 3 races: the classic marathon of 42.195 km, in which elite runners participated, the 10 km race, and the 4 km family race.
The races began and ended on Umm Suqeim Road near the Dubai Police Academy on Jumeirah Beach Road, passing through Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah.
