Cabinet in talks with Japanese Honorary Debts Foundation, unclear whether apologies are on the table

State Secretary Maarten van Ooijen (VWS) will talk to the Japanese Honorary Debts Foundation next month. His spokesperson would not comment on the approach and purpose of the conversation. He neither confirms nor denies that the discussion will be about possible apologies from the cabinet to Dutch victims and relatives of the Japanese occupation in the Dutch East Indies.
