The Group-1 Preliminary Examination (Prelims) conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) for filling 92 vacant posts across the state ended peacefully. APPSC has set up 297 examination centers in 18 districts. Paper-1 exam was conducted from 10 am to 12 pm and Paper-2 exam from 2 pm to 4 pm.
However, it came to light that a young man was committing copying in the examination center set up at Narayana College in Benzi Circle, Vijayawada. A candidate named Kollur Venkatesh, who works in Poranki secretariat, brought a mobile phone to the prelims exam held on Sunday morning. Officials noticed that he was writing answers while opening Google on his mobile. The police immediately arrested him and are investigating the incident.
However, this time the group-1 exam paper got a mixed response from the candidates. Candidates said that many questions were given at a long length and it took a lot of time to read and understand them. He said that there is little time left to answer the question. Some candidates are of the opinion that they have given longer questions to test the ability of the job seekers. A total of 1,26,449 candidates have applied for Group-1 jobs across the state.
