Calgary: India’s Lakshya Sen won the men’s singles title at the Canada Open Badminton Series.
Last night, India’s 19th-ranked Lakshya Sen met All England champion and 10th-ranked Li Shi Peng of China in the final of the men’s singles division held in Calgary, Canada. In this, 21-year-old Lakshya Sen won the title of champion by winning in straight sets 21-18, 22-20.
Both the players played some extraordinary rallies. Spectacularly, Tulliyavar played some smashes at high speed. Li Shi Peng twice covered 390 km. Scored smashes at speed. While Lakshya Sen 400 km. He scored two smashes at pace. It impressed the audience.
This is Lakshya Sen’s 2nd title in the 500-point series. Before this, he had won the title in the 500-point India Open series held in 2022.
Lakshya Sen won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games held in August last year. Lakshya Sen has now won the title after that. India’s HS in the Malaysian Masters last May. Pranai had won the title of champion. Since then Lakshya Sen has taken the oath among the Indian players.
