Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Health, Women and Child Development Veena George said that Mitra 181 helpline and 1098 helpline for children, which ensure government services to women facing various challenges, will be expanded. A major change is envisioned. In case of urgent calls, there will be a system to connect directly to the police immediately. The minister also said that services will be provided at the district level as well. Manthi was speaking at the project performance review meeting of district level officers of Women and Child Development Department.

Every month the work done in the district will be directly reviewed at the state level. The progress of the ongoing development projects and schemes is directly evaluated. Although it is the youngest department, it is the department that people are most hopeful about. Women and children are the ones who need the most care and welfare. Therefore, the Department of Women and Child Development should become a center of support for children and women. The operations of the department should become a place that can be relied on immediately in case of an accident.
From Senior Superintendent of Women Child Development Department to Unit Officers should conduct field level visits and evaluate the achievements. Punching should be done correctly. All the offices of Women and Child Development Department should be shifted to e-file in time. It should be implemented on a full scale in the Directorate. 191 Smart Anganwadis under construction should be completed on time. Electrification of Anganwadis is progressing well. Solar panel will be installed with the help of KSEB in 130 Anganwadis where electricity is not available.
Steps will be taken to extend the Nirbhaya scheme to all districts. The services of school counselors should be well utilized during vacations. It should be observed precisely. The government is making a big effort to implement the school health plan. Women and child development department has great importance in it. Work on making playgrounds a reality in all government homes is progressing well.
