Career Opportunities In The UK; Norca's UK Career Fair In Kochi From 6 To 10 Next Month; Apply Now

The third edition of Norca Roots UK Career Fair will be held in Kochi from November 6 to 10. The career fair provides an opportunity for those from the health sector in Kerala to various NHS trusts in the United Kingdom (UK), England and Wales. There are opportunities for doctors, nurses and sonographers in various specialties.

1. Doctors- UK (England)

Opportunities for doctors in UK England are in radiology, psychiatry, general medicine and emergency departments. Four years work experience after graduation in specialties. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience of two years. Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) qualification is not required. OET/IELTS (UK-SCORE) is not mandatory at the time of interview. After getting the appointment, the said language qualification should be obtained within the specified time limit.

2. Doctors- (UK Wales)

Opportunities for doctors in Wales are in general medicine and oncology. Appointment will be made to the posts of Junior Clinical Fellow and Senior Clinical Fellow as per the qualification.

a. Junior Clinical Fellow- UK Wales

Medical graduates (MBBS) who have completed registration with the UK General Medical Council and are licensed to practice in the UK.

b.Senior Clinical Fellow (-UK Wales)

Post Graduate Degree in General Medicine or Oncology. Three years work experience. PLAB is not mandatory. Opportunity to obtain registration in UK through sponsorship. IELTS/OET (UK SCORE) qualification is not mandatory at interview stage. If selected the said qualification should be obtained. Appointees are also entitled to IELTS/OET fee refund, visa to UK, flight ticket and one month’s accommodation. The minimum annual salary for a Junior Clinical Fellow post is £37,737-49,925 and for a Senior Clinical Fellow post is £37,737-59,336.

3. Nurses (England-Wales)

Candidates with Bachelor (BSc) or Diploma (GNM) educational qualification in Nursing and IELTS/ OET UK score proving English language proficiency can apply. Nurses have opportunities for various specialties. Work experience is not essential to attend interviews in England. Applicants to UK Wales must have a minimum of six months of work experience.

4. ULTRASONOGRAPHER (England)

Candidates having diploma, degree or additional qualification in Radiography, Imaging-Technology can apply. Experience in handling ultrasound equipment is also a must. Proficiency in handling the said equipment must be demonstrated. HCPC registration is not mandatory at the time of interview.

5. Doctors-UK Wales

In UK-Wales doctors are eligible for the posts of Junior Clinical Fellow and Senior Clinical Fellow. Vacancies for specialty doctors are in general medicine and oncology departments. For this, apart from the career fair which will be held in Kochi from November 06 to 10, 2023, there will also be an interview in Delhi on November 04, 2023.
