New Delhi: The party’s main leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the Congress Working Committee has given approval to conduct a caste-wise census across the country.
The National Working Committee meeting of the Congress Party was held in Delhi under the chairmanship of party president Mallikarjuna Kharge. In this, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Khelat, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Begal, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sahu, former Punjab Chief Minister Saranjit Singh Sunny, Congress General Secretary K.C. .Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, General Secretary of Information Communication Organization and others were present.
Rahul Gandhi said that caste wise census was discussed in detail in this meeting. In this regard, he further said, “The Congress Working Committee has unanimously supported the idea that caste wise census should be conducted across the country. This is a progressive step. Everyone also supported the caste wise census to be conducted in all states ruled by the Congress.”
Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot, responding to a question from reporters regarding the caste-wise census, said, “Two days ago, our main committee met, and it was decided to conduct a caste-wise census in Rajasthan. Subsequently, the Rajasthan government issued an order for it. Today, the Congress executive committee has expressed its support. Caste-wise census We want it to be conducted,” he said.
While the caste-wise census has been conducted and published in Bihar, its impact is felt in other states and other political parties.
