The feud between Jonathan Maicelo and Pantera Zegarra is not recent. Both Peruvian boxers have had a history of tensions dating back several years. On multiple occasions, Zegarra has publicly challenged Maicelo to a formal fight, but the confrontation has never materialized due, in large part, to Maicelo’s financial demands, as the reality boy has also pointed out in various interviews.
“I have always been willing to fight, but it seems that the price is too high for Maicelo to get into the ring,” Zegarra said in a recent interview, referring to his rival’s financial demands.
Pantera Zegarra revealed that he has wanted to fight Jonathan Maicelo for four years.
The conflict came to a head during the event ‘Celebrity Combat’, where the pent-up tension exploded into a physical fight. Although it was not a formal fight, the confrontation has generated even more expectation among the followers of both athletes, who hope that an official fight will finally take place in the ring.
Who participates in ‘Celebrity Combat’?
The ‘Celebrity Combat’ event was an initiative organized by Nikko Ponce, which brought together various figures from the digital and entertainment world in Peru. Inspired by international events such as ‘The Evening of the Year’ in Spain, the show aimed to offer amateur boxing matches between streaming personalities, tiktokers and other content creators.
Among the most notable participants were ‘Sibenito’, ‘Cholosoy’, Emil, Flavvv, King León, Pablo Ezzeta, Notorious George, Gringo Marcos, Socicrema and Rodrigol. Each of them faced each other in fights of three two-minute rounds, following the rules of amateur boxing.
