New Delhi: The central government has directed that private television stations should air 30 minutes of videos to create awareness among the public.
In this regard, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued guidelines for private televisions. It said, “Consultations were made with their owners and their associations regarding telecasting of public awareness videos on private televisions. Based on the feedback received, these guidelines have been formulated.
According to this, private televisions should broadcast 30 minutes of awareness videos to the public every day. There is no need to flash these videos in bulk. Can be broadcasted in small segments.
Videos should be of national importance and social welfare on topics such as education and literature, agriculture and rural development, health and family welfare, science and technology, welfare of women, welfare of the weaker sections of society, environment and ancient cultural preservation, national integration.
The report of the broadcast of these videos should be uploaded on the service broadcasting website every month.
