Ahmedabad: Playing in the World Test Championship final after the upcoming IPL 2023 season will not be easy, says India head coach Rahul Dravid.
The World Test Championship final will be held at the Oval in England from 7th to 11th June. India is playing against Australia. The final match of the IPL 2023 season is scheduled to take place on May 28. The gap between the two is just 9 days. In the meantime, the Indian players have to prepare themselves to suit the English environment. In this case, Rahul Dravida has spoken about this.
“It is great that the Indian team reached the final of the World Test Championship. But, it is very challenging. The Indian cricket team is playing a lot of cricket. At the same time, the team has qualified for the finals of the Test Championship for the second time because of the excellent performance of the team.
There are only a few days between the IPL final and the World Test Championship final. So that will definitely be a big challenge for us. It won’t be that easy. However, we are looking forward to this challenge. The coaches will discuss plans to prepare the players for the World Test Finals. This will give the players an opportunity to prepare for this tournament. We will definitely show our best performance,” said Dravid.
