YSSR CP leaders were outraged over the criticism of TDP national spokesperson Pattabhiram targeting the Chief Minister. Pattabhi Ram raided the house and destroyed the belongings in the house. They also stormed the TDP headquarters in Mangalagiri and attacked with stones and sticks. The windows of the vehicles in the parking lot in front of the office were shattered. Similarly, women staged a sit-in in front of the TDP office in Visakhapatnam and demanded that Pattabhi issue a public apology.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Chandrababu Naidu has telephoned Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the wake of YCP activists raising concerns at several TDP offices in the state. Amit Shah explained over the phone that the attacks were being carried out as planned. Amit Shah assured that the matter of the attack has not come to his notice yet and action will be taken if a written complaint is lodged by the party general secretary. Chandrababu appealed to the central security forces to provide protection to the TDP office. It is learned that Amit Shah has assured Chandrababu that he will talk to the AP police officials about this.
On learning about the attack, Chandrababu reached the party office in Mangalagiri and got to know the details of the incident. Chandrababu spoke to Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan on the concerns at TDP offices across the state. Party sources said they had sought the help of central forces to explain the situation.
