New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has introduced a system where residents can change their address in Aadhaar online with the consent of the head of the family.
This new system will be very useful for relatives (children, spouse, parents) of residents who do not have sufficient documents in their name to change their address in Aadhaar card.
You can apply for this by mentioning the relationship between the applicant and the head of the family and submitting documents like their names, ration card, marks certificate, marriage certificate, passport etc. In the absence of proof of above relationship, self-certificate endorsed by head of family in specified format issued by Unique Identification Authority of India can be used.
This method has been supplemented with the facility of proof of residence document which is currently pending. Any person above 18 years of age can be considered as head of household and can share his address with relatives for this purpose.
While changing the address through internet https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ One can use this option on the site. After that, the reference number of the head of the family should be registered for the verification process. Then, the resident has to upload the documentary proof of relationship.
The fee for using this service is Rs. 50 to be paid. An SMS will be sent to the head of the household after payment of the fee. The head of the family should give his consent on the above mentioned website within 30 days from the date of receipt of notification.
If the family head rejects this request within the specified 30 days, or is not willing to share his address, the concerned application will be terminated. Information in this regard will be communicated to the applicant through SMS. In such circumstances the fee paid by the applicant will not be refunded.
