The Jagan government has decided to make changes in the Andhra Pradesh Sankranti festival holidays. To this end, the government on Tuesday issued orders making changes in the dates of Bhogi, Sankranti and Kanuma holidays. The state government initially declared January 14, 15 and 16 as holidays. The amendment was issued by Jivo giving leave on 13th (Thursday), 14th (Friday) and 15th (Saturday) of this month instead of these dates.
The AP government said in a statement that the decision was taken in the backdrop of Bhogi, Sankranti and Kanuma festivals being celebrated on January 13, 14 and 15. On the other hand, it is known that the government has changed the date of implementation of night curfew during Sankranti.
The government has decided to lift the night curfew, which came into effect from Monday night, in the wake of rising corona cases. To this end, Jivo issued orders on Tuesday amending the order. The government announced that the decision was taken in the backdrop of a large number of people moving from towns to villages as Sankranthi is a big festival.
