The ONCE coupon is the best-known game managed by the National Organization of the Spanish Blind, and also the longest-running of all of them. 80 years ago, the draw was carried out independently in the various provinces of Spain. The number consisted of three figures plus a series of five figures that, in the beginning, cost ten cents of a peseta.
Today, the ONCE daily Coupon consists of a five-digit number and a serial number with which the winners of 35,000 euros and those of 500,000 euros are determined (for those who get the number and series correct). On Friday ‘Cuponazo’ is played and on the weekend ‘Sueldazo’, its two most popular games.
The Triplex and Super ONCE draws also take place daily. Both consist of three draws a day, which are held at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Triplex is played using a three-digit number that, if correct, awards 150 euros for 50 cents played. In Super ONCE, five to eleven numbers between 1 and 80 are played. The draw draws 20 numbers, and the prize depends on both the numbers played and the bets placed.
Three State Lottery and Betting games are held every Thursday. For the Primitiva the participant must choose between six different numbers between 1 and 49, plus an additional one if they wish to participate in the ‘The Joker’ game. Each ticket has a refund number between 0 and 9.
The prize corresponds to 55% of the proceeds from the sale, which is distributed in several categories. From those who guess the refund to those who match the six numbers of the winning combination, they will have the option of different prizes.
In El Joker, an optional game associated with the Primitiva Lottery, the highest prize is 1,000,000 euros, for tickets that match the 7 digits of the winning number, and the lowest category prize is for numbers that match the first or last digit of the winning number.
The Bonoloto works in a very similar way to the Primitiva, it is really a smaller replica. The player must choose six numbers between 1 and 49, just like in the original Primitiva, and the payout is random. Each Bonoloto bet costs 50 cents and at least two bets must be made for the ticket to be valid.
The bettor can place the single bet or the multiple bet. In a multiple bet the chances of winning are higher, but the price of the ticket also increases. This draw takes place from Monday to Saturday. The prizes in this draw are not as large and the tickets are more affordable. According to State Lotteries and Betting, it is the game with the most economical participation that they have.
The National Lottery
The National Lottery is one of the most popular games of luck and chance in Spain. Sometimes special draws are held that coincide with specific events. The most notable are the Christmas raffle and the “El Niño” raffle.
The bet consists of a five-digit number. Its standard sale price is three euros on Thursdays and six on ordinary Saturdays. In extraordinary draws, and on special Saturdays, the base price ranges between 12 and 20 euros per number. Something that differentiates the National Lottery from other lotteries is that 70% of the profits from ticket sales are distributed directly among the winners. The remaining 30% goes to the State.
