Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic scored for Chelsea to win 3-1 at Leicester City in the English Premier League, to take a new step in the required recovery after a long struggle.
And after winning only twice in 15 matches, coach Graham Potter’s team won three times in a row in all competitions, and ranks tenth in the league with 40 points, while Leicester’s 16th place continued to suffer.
Chelsea entered the match with confidence after beating Leeds United in the league and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and opened the scoring with a low shot from Chilwell into Danny Ward in the 11th minute.
Chelsea’s performance declined and Joao Felix, who scored a goal that was ruled out by the referee due to offside, lost the ball in the middle of his court and reached striker Patson Dhaka to equalise.
Leicester continued to advance the attack, but Chelsea scored before the break when Enzo Fernandez passed the ball to his German colleague Havertz and hit the ball into Ward’s net.
Leicester almost equalized, but substitute Conor Gallagher, Chelsea player, cleared the ball from the line, before Kiernan Dusbury-Hall failed to score from close range.
Mykhailo Modric, who joined Chelsea in a huge deal in January, scored a goal that was ruled out for offside before passing to Kovacic, who fired a powerful shot from close range into the net in the 78th minute to secure the London club’s victory.
