Chennai: Heavy rains were recorded in capital city Chennai due to Cyclone Mikjam. Due to this, various parts of the city are surrounded by flood water. In this case, the batsman of the Australian cricket team, David Warner, has expressed regret about this. He shared a video of the rain and flood damage in an Instagram post.
“I am saddened to know that various parts of Chennai have been hit by rain and floods. My thoughts are with all the people affected by this natural disaster at this time. It’s important that everyone stays safe. People living in low-lying areas can move to higher ground. Those who are able to help the relief work can support it. We will unite to support as much as possible,” said Warner.
Cyclone Mikjam made landfall in Andhra Pradesh yesterday (Tuesday). Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts located on the north coast of Tamil Nadu have received heavy rainfall for the past few days due to the storm. Due to this, various parts of Chennai city are surrounded by rain and flood. Flood water is flowing here and there. Removal of water from waterlogged areas is also underway.
