In Orenburg, the reconstruction of the children’s railway station “Komsomolskaya” was completed. The opening ceremony took place on Friday, May 19, according to the regional government.
The station is located on the embankment of the Ural River. Its building was restored by specialists according to historical drawings of 1953, writes 56orb.ru.
“The station has become a real gem of the renovated embankment. A lot of guys come here who are interested in the railway, who study on the equipment and machinery of the Russian Railways. Every year, more than 500 children practice on the children’s road,” said Governor Denis Pasler, who was present at the opening ceremony.
The decision to restore the facility was made in early 2021. The project was developed by Russian Railways jointly with the Ministry of Architecture and Spatial and Urban Development of the Orenburg Region.
As RIA Orenburgye clarifies, the 70th season of the Orenburg Children’s Railway started with the opening of the station. It is expected that in 2023, 539 pre-training children will complete the summer internship.
The children’s railway will work until the end of August. Five pairs of trains will run on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
