The Chinese government is calling on the United States to immediately disclose information about the military biological laboratories located in Ukraine and the viruses that were being researched there. This was announced on Tuesday, March 8, during a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian.
“According to data published by the American side, the United States has 26 biological laboratories and other facilities in Ukraine that are fully controlled by the US military,” the diplomat said.
He called for the sake of the health of Ukrainians and residents of neighboring countries to ensure the safety of laboratories.
“The United States, as the party that has the most information about laboratories, should disclose relevant data as soon as possible, including about the viruses that were there and the nature of the research on them,” he added.
According to the diplomat, the US military biological programs in Ukraine can only be the tip of the iceberg.
“The American side also carried out a lot of military biological research at the Fort Detrick laboratory. What is the true intention of the US? What exactly were they doing?” Zhao Lijian asked.
The day before, the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about the formation in Ukraine of a network of more than 30 biological laboratories working under the Pentagon program. They can be divided into research and sanitary-epidemiological. The customer of the ongoing work is the US Department of Defense Office for Defense Threat Reduction.
On that day, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed investigators to check the facts of the creation of biological weapons in Ukraine.
Also on March 7, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the facts of an emergency cleansing by Kiev of traces of a military biological program being implemented in Ukraine, funded by the US Department of Defense, were revealed. He clarified that after the start of the Russian operation to protect civilians in Donbass, the Pentagon had serious concerns about disclosing information from secret biological experiments on the territory of Ukraine.
Russia launched an operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass on February 24. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified at the time, the special operation has two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people. The Russian side also emphasized that it does not hatch plans for the occupation of Ukraine, and strikes are carried out only on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, on March 6, a representative of one of the competent Russian departments said that Ukraine could get its own nuclear weapons in the near future.
