Chris Martin stops his show to ask fans to put their phones away and enjoy his music

Chris Martin, leader and vocalist of Coldplay, interrupted his own show in Monterrey last weekend to make a request to his followers, who bought tickets to see him sing live. He and his band are in Mexico making a series of presentations as part of their “Music of the spheres world tour 2022” tour.

The singer addressed his fans speaking in Spanish. He told them to put their cell phones away and enjoy the music after noticing that not all attendees were singing along to his songs.

“If possible, please. As a gift for us. Just a song, sing and jump without phones and photos. We want to feel this moment with you”, said the interpreter of “Viva la vida”.

How did the public react?

The ovation of the public was unexpected after hearing him speak in their language. Some heeded his request, while others continued to record with their phones.

It’s not the first time Chris Martin talk to your audience for such a request. Days ago she did it in Costa Rica. In that country, she asked people to put aside the devices to live the moment in an intimate way.

Coldplay pays tribute to Taylor Hawkins

Chris Martin took a break from one of his concerts in Mexico to send condolences to the family of Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, who was found dead in a hotel in Colombia.

“We heard that a friend of ours, in a great band called the Foo Fighters, has passed away. We weren’t sure about talking about it at the concert, but we have to because they are our friends and we care about them.”
