The Dubai Sports Council organized the annual forum for coaches of Dubai Football Clubs, which comes within the framework of implementing the policy of attracting and developing sports talent in Dubai 2023-2033 in the aspect related to the sports professional development of the technical and administrative staff working in Dubai clubs.
According to a statement issued by the Council, the forum included organizing training courses under the supervision of a number of experts, managers and technical supervisors at the Dubai Football Clubs’ academies, and also included holding lectures and workshops on various topics.
The technical director of the Al Wasl Football Academy, Radwan Lahbibani, gave a lecture entitled Transformations in Football, while the technical director of the Hatta Football Academy, Hisham Bombar, gave a lecture entitled Skills Efficiency in the Service of the Game. The technical director of the Shabab Al Ahli Football Academy, Mohamed Al-Alawi, also presented a lecture. Al-Ismaili gave a lecture entitled Defining the Philosophy of Play: Principles of Playing Football, while the technical director of Al-Nasr Football Academy, Paolo Jorge Filippi, reviewed the impact of the technical specifications of the player and the coach. International lecturer at the European Football Association, Chris van der Hagen, also gave a lecture entitled “Intelligence and Decision-Making in Football,” in which he stressed that football intelligence depends on making the right decisions based on awareness of the information surrounding the player, and that the best players are not the fastest or strongest. Rather, they are more capable of making the right decisions at the right time. He explained the importance of visual scanning in football, and its role in improving the rate of completing forward passes, as statistics showed that the best players scan the field six to eight times during the last 10 seconds before receiving the ball. Chris touched on the effect of biological maturity and the effect of relative age in discovering talent, noting the superiority of players who mature early over those who mature late. The statement stressed that organizing this annual forum came within the framework of achieving the objectives of the policy of attracting and developing sports talents, which was launched by the Dubai Sports Council, as a translation of the directions of the Dubai government in the field of attracting and developing talents in all disciplines, and in implementation of the Dubai Sports Council program for developing youth and young people, in the related aspect. By qualifying technical cadres and raising the level of efficiency of coaches working in the age levels and academies of football clubs and companies in Dubai, the forum is a continuation of the Council’s development programs in the field of preparing football coaches, which included organizing training courses.
