She wasn’t just a bad guy who is envious, but she was a bad guy who poisoned the girl, who ordered her to be killed, so it was like this is too much, right? But it was very interesting to be able to know my process as an actress with Sabrina And it was also nice that Sabrina opened many doors for me so that people who didn’t know who I was could get to know me. And thanks to that I am also relaunching myself as a soloist. Yes, because at that time I do remember that, well, your role was quite popular.
-Not yet. I think that since last year I have given priority to music. Now, if a character comes to me that I want to do where I say yes, for example, an antagonistic character, a bad character, that I like, I would do it anyway.
It was very nice, it was very gratifying because at the beginning I was afraid of doing wrong and that people on the street would hate me, because I felt that a little bit, but no, on the contrary, it was nice to be able to experience this hate-love of people .
—Your recent single, ‘Coqueteo Full’, has been very well received. How has this experience been for you?
—’Coqueteo Full’ was born in Punta Cana in Master Chris’ studio. I am part of the entire composition and creation of the song. Together with Maestro and his team we made this song and others that you will see later. He was born with that idea. I started with this idea, which was the idea of when two people like each other, but they don’t dare to say it. I thought they were going to be a song like a romantic salsa, but it ended up being a rumba to dance well and another one came out along the way, that was what happened. There are many stories of heartbreak on my album.
—You explored cumbia, regional music and salsa. Do you have defined the musical genre you want to focus on?
—I consider myself a very versatile artist and I like to be able to experiment with different musical genres. Now, the regional genre was a nice coincidence. Because I wanted to do a regional song, but several songs came out. Because I felt comfortable. I also started writing songs with Maestro and more songs were born. So, when I realized that there were more than two songs that we had made, I said, ok, I can’t leave this here, I have to do it and we decided to make the first EP of regional music. That, in fact, has helped me a lot to get to know other territories, to be able to enter Colombia a little with my music. Here in Peru I am the first artist who makes regional music.
—What memories do you take with you from your participation in the eighth season of ‘The Great Famous Chef’?
—It’s like an experience beyond the traditional now that there is on television. The audience sees an artist in a very natural way, being themselves, in a way that cannot normally be seen on stage. On a stage one always has to maintain composure, one has to be very straight, on the other hand, in the kitchen many things come out. The majority, I believe, of people who have been through ‘The Great Chef’, artists, have been able to show themselves in a positive way to the public as they are. So it’s been fun.
In fact, there is a very beautiful energy with the entire production team, with the chefs who are there, the jury, Peláez, the driver. In other words, there is a very good human group that supports ‘The Great Chef’ and makes the artist feel comfortable. Because sometimes when you work in a place that is not comfortable for you, obviously fun things don’t flow, right? But of course, you meet a Jaco, an Ivana, and Leila, which for example is one of the things I take away from ‘The Great Chef’, two great friends who to this day have a beautiful friendship.
