Manchester City took a new step towards retaining the English Premier League title for the third consecutive season, after achieving a big 3-0 victory over its guest West Ham United on Wednesday in a postponed match in the 28th stage of the competition.
Manchester City’s balance, which continued its uprising by achieving its ninth consecutive victory in the competition, rose to 79 points, to regain the lead, which it lost on Tuesday, ahead by a point ahead of its closest opponents, Arsenal, noting that the heavenly team still has a postponed match.
On the other hand, West Ham’s balance, which received its 18th loss in the championship this season and the third in a row, stopped at 34 points in fifteenth place.
And at (Al-Ittihad) stadium, Nathan Ake opened the scoring for Manchester City in the 50th minute, before Norwegian star Erling Haaland added the second goal in the 70th minute.
Haaland, who continued his hobby of scoring for the fifth consecutive match, strengthened his lead in the Premier League’s top scorer this season, after raising his scoring tally to 35 goals, becoming the first player in the history of the competition to achieve this number of goals during one season in the prestigious tournament.
Phil Foden concluded the Manchester City goal festival, by scoring the third goal for the hosts in the 85th minute.
