After six years of legal battle, Claudia Seminara She spoke from Spain, where she currently resides, about the recent ruling by the Judiciary that acquitted comedian Carlos Espejo (‘Yuca’) of the last sentence that sentenced him to 3 years in prison. The actress recalled the episode in which she was the victim of inappropriate touching and how, after exposing it, she did not receive the expected support.
The actress clarified that she demands public apologies from Carlos Espejo and Jorge Benavides, host of the comedy show, for the incident that occurred during the recording of ‘El Wasap de JB’.
‘Yuca’ is acquitted by Clara Seminara’s complaint
Enrique Espejo has been acquitted of the complaint for inappropriate touching that Clara Seminara filed against him. The actress had accused the comedian of having touched her inappropriately during the recording of a segment of the program ‘El Wasap de JB’, which led her to file a formal complaint in 2019. Despite the fact that at the time the comedian was sentenced to three years of suspended prison for the crime against sexual freedom, the Judiciary annulled the sentence, leaving the case unsubstantiated.
This ruling has caused outrage in Seminara, who says that, despite the lack of support from her colleagues, she will continue with the legal process. The actress stressed that she will continue to fight for justice. “I’m going to continue with the process, I have to continue,” Seminara said.

What did Clara Seminara say about the invalidity of her complaint?
From Spain, where she currently resides, Clara Seminara gave an interview to the program ‘Todo se filtra’, in which she expressed her frustration and bewilderment at the recent acquittal of ‘Yuca’. “I find it strange, this is, I don’t know if I should say it, a hand” Seminara said in reference to the annulment of the sentence.
Seminara also noted that her relationship with her coworkers deteriorated after the incident. “I know my truth, I know what happened, I know that all the witnesses who were there also know it and it is in their conscience, that at the time they turned their backs on me and those who remained silent,” added the actress.
Clara Seminara demands public apologies
Throughout the interview, Clara Seminara was emphatic in her demand for public apologies from both Enrique Espejo and Jorge Benavides. According to the actress, the only thing she has wanted since the legal process began is for both of them to publicly acknowledge what happened and apologize to her and her coworkers.
“Actually, I wanted public apologies, from both Enrique Espejos and Jorge Benavides (…) that’s all I wanted. Legally, I don’t know if I can request that.” Seminara confessed.
Clara Seminara also regretted that, in her opinion, no disciplinary measures were taken against Espejo after her complaint. “I didn’t feel supported by them, I felt that they agreed with the aggressor,” said the actress, recalling that, at the time, she expected that actions such as a suspension or a public sanction would be taken for Espejo. “Do something, I don’t know, suspend him for a couple of days, give him a sanction, make him apologize publicly in front of all his colleagues and I didn’t feel that,” added Seminara.
