AP Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy met Prime Minister Modi in Delhi. A meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s office in Parliament. The pending arrears of funds due to the state were discussed. Jagan discussed political issues with the Prime Minister, including the implementation of promises of allocation of special status to AP. The Prime Minister was asked to make the issue of privatization of steel plant, release of Polavaram funds, approval of the full construction cost of Polavaram project, clearance of arrears related to electricity supplied to Telangana state from June 2014 to June 2017, and payment of tax due to Andhra Pradesh from central share.
Jagan asked the Center to provide more assistance to the medical colleges being established in the new districts. He appealed to the Central Mines Department to issue instructions to provide raw ore to the plants to be set up under APMDC. Jaganmohan Reddy will take the matter of clearance of subsidy arrears pending for a long time to the AP Civil Supplies Department to the attention of the Prime Minister. Under the National Food Security Act, Andhra Pradesh will get an equal share to the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat, which are economically ahead of AP.
