New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has filed a new petition in the Supreme Court. In this, he demanded extension of interim bail for 7 more days to undergo some more medical tests including PET-CT scan.
In fact, on May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to CM Kejriwal till June 1 in connection with the money laundering investigation related to the liquor scam case. Kejriwal has to surrender on June 2. CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in the liquor scam case. According to the Aam Aadmi Party, his health has deteriorated since his arrest.

AAP says that after the arrest, he lost 7 kg of weight, due to which his ketone level has become very high, which is a very serious medical disorder. The party has further said that it will take 7 days for the CM to undergo medical tests. On May 17, the Supreme Court reserved its decision on CM Kejriwal’s petition challenging his arrest and subsequent remand by the anti-money laundering agency in the liquor scam case.
During the hearing, the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta said that they have clear orders regarding the release and surrender deadline of CM Kejriwal (CM Arvind). No special exemption has been given. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed an application in a Delhi court last week seeking extension of the judicial custody of the AAP supremo for 14 days on the expiry of the Supreme Court’s interim bail order on June 2.
