The chief minister of Orissa, the prince of Scotland and a prominent minister in Russia are assassinated one after the other. Who did the actual murders remains a tight secret for the police. With that, Interpol enters the field. While Interpol officer Aslan (Irfan Pathan) takes up the case and investigates, he comes across a maths thesis written by Judy (Meenakshi Govind Rajan) in India. Judy meets Aslan who has come to India. At first he didn’t believe Judy’s words. But.. her analysis makes him believe. Judy reveals that the murders are being done by a man alias Cobra. Aslan is shocked to learn that he uses mathematics to commit murders. At the same time, the investigation reveals that Madi (Chiyan Vikram), a master of calculations, is doing these murders under the name of Cobra. It is revealed that a big businessman named Rishi (Roshan Mathew) is involved in the murders of Cobra. In the course of investigating the case, Aslan comes to know many surprising things. He is shocked to know them. Who will tell the police about the murders of Cobra? Who is Madi-Kadir? What is their relationship with Cobra? Why does cobra commit murders? You have to watch the movie to know these things.
Vikram is in the front row among the heroes who do diverse roles and films. It should be said that one of his efforts was the movie Cobra. Coming to the film’s first half, Vikram’s character Cobra commits serial murders. That is also very smart.. even the international police can’t find it. All these scenes are interesting. Why is Vikram doing these murders? The love track between Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty seems to be diverting the story in between. This love track.. the first half is good except for those songs that come in between.
Coming to the second half, a character will reveal the Cobra murders. The secret of that character will be revealed. With that, the actual story of the movie starts. Drama will be added to the story which till then was called crime and thriller. Will this drama connect emotionally? No.. Tests the audience’s patience. That’s all Kadandoy.. will create a confusion that was not there till then. Illusionation created characters and increased the confusion but did not arouse interest anywhere. We cannot fault Vikram’s acting. But he did the role he did in the second half till now in movies like Aparichitudu. So the audience does not feel that it is new. An attempt was made to emotionally connect Mrinali with Ravi’s character in the second half, but that effort failed. Srinidhi Shetty, Mrinalini Ravi, Ananth Raj and Robo Shankar all acted to the extent of their respective roles. The audience who has come to imagine how Irrfan Pathan’s character will be is bound to be disappointed.
Technically speaking, it is clear that director Ajay Gnanamuthu has written the first staff in a very high range. There is no doubt that the movie will not connect with the audience of B and C centers. And the confusion factor that came in the second half was a misfire in telling the audience to understand the movie. Cinematography by Harish Kannan and Bhuvan Srinivasan is very good. Every scene is shown very grandiose. The first song in AR Rahman’s music is good. The background score is very good. All the flash back episodes in the movie increase the length of the movie and create an unknown mess. It would have been better if the editor had reduced the length of the film more.
Finally.. Cobra.. The master of calculations is a mess
