“Artificial intelligence is the future,” according to Coca-Cola statements.
This month, the soft drink giant launched a limited edition soft drink created using artificial intelligence technology.
Coca-Cola describes Y3000 as “the first futuristic flavor created jointly with human and artificial intelligence.”
Tasting the Y3000 drink was a two-step process. First, the company’s researchers collected “key flavor preferences and trends to understand what consumers imagine and think about future tastes,” a company representative told CNBC.
This information is then analyzed by Coca-Cola’s AI system to help develop flavor profiles.
Coca-Cola does not describe the taste of the new flavor in any of its products, but the drink comes in regular and sugar-free varieties.
AI was also used to develop the drink’s futuristic packaging, which features a dotted logo, clean chrome colours, as well as touches of purple, pink and blue.
“With the help of AI-powered technology, Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar imagines what a Coca-Cola drink from the future could taste like and offers innovative experiences to explore the future,” Coca-Cola Senior Director of Global Strategy Oana Vlad said in a press release. .
The Y3000 flavor will also accompany some future outfits. Coca-Cola is teaming up with luxury fashion brand Ambush to release a collection this fall.
