New Delhi: In the last financial year 2020-21, BJP received Rs.752 crore as a donation. In this situation, the donation received by the BJP in 2021-22 has increased by 154 percent to Rs 1,917 crore.
Trinamool Congress came second with Rs 545.7 crore in donations. The amount of donations received by the Congress party has increased by 89 per cent to Rs 541.2 crore from Rs 285.7 crore in the last financial year.
In this regard, the Election Commission website has further informed that: In the last financial year 2021-22, all the 8 national parties have collectively received Rs.3,289 crore as donations. In this, BJP’s share is only 58 percent.
The Trinamool Congress has collected more donations than before. Accordingly, the donation received by the party, which was only Rs.74.4 crore in 2020-21, has increased by 633 percent to Rs.545.7 crore in 2021-22.
On the other hand, the donation received by the CPM decreased from Rs.171 crore in 2020-21 to Rs.162.2 crore in 2021-22. However, the donation received by CBI has slightly increased from Rs 2.1 crore to Rs 2.8 crore.
Bahujan Samaj (BSP) donation collection fell to Rs 43.7 crore from Rs 52.4 crore. BJP has been the top spender in the last financial year 2021-22 as well as receiving the most donations. The party has spent Rs 854.46 crore in the last financial year. Congress has spent Rs 400 crore, Trinamool Rs 268.3 crore, BSP 85.1 crore, CPM 83.41 crore, CPI 1.2 crore and NCP Rs 32.2 crore.
DMK Donation Collection: As far as the state parties are concerned, the DMK received Rs 318.7 crore in donations in the last financial year. Following this, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) collected Rs 307.2 crore, Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) Rs 279.4 crore and YSR Congress collected Rs 93.7 crore, according to the Election Commission website.
