Oman: Ministry of Environment announces complete ban on plastic bags in Oman Oman’s Ministry of Environment has said it plans to implement the ban in the next few months. The Oman Environment Committee announced this at a press conference. Last year, Oman imposed a ban on lightweight plastic bags. Oman last year banned single-use plastic bags. At present, only plastic bags that can be used two or three times are available in the market. The decision is to impose a complete ban on plastic bags in Oman within 10 years. An outline of the plans to be implemented each year to achieve this goal has been prepared. Oman had last year imposed a time limit on shops and businesses to ban single-use plastic bags. When plastic bags were banned, many people came to supermarkets with cloth bags.
