Dublin: India – Ireland teams clash in the 2nd T20 match at 9pm tonight at the Malahide Stadium in Dublin.
The first match between the two teams yesterday was reduced to 12 overs due to rain. Batting first, Ireland scored 108 for 4 in 12 overs.
At one point the team lost 3 wickets for 22 runs and Harry Dector played an action-packed 64 off 33 balls, including 3 sixes and 6 fours. Largan Tucker added 18 runs. For India, Yuvendra Sahal took 3 wickets for 11 runs off 3 overs. Bhuvneshwar, Hardik Pandya and Avesh Khan also took one wicket each.
Batting on 109, India won by 111 runs in 9.2 overs. Debutant Deepak Hooda was unbeaten on 47 off 29 balls with 2 sixes and 6 fours. Ishant Kishan was unbeaten on 26 off 11 balls while skipper Hardik Pandya was unbeaten on 24 off 12 balls.
Sahil was chosen as the man of the match. India won by 7 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The 2nd and final match takes place today at the same venue. If they win, the Indian team will win the series 2-0 and capture the trophy.
