Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda said that the Congress should first organize the party to face the parliamentary elections.
Karnataka assembly elections have been announced and the election campaign is heating up there. In this election, the ruling BJP, the opposition Congress and the secular Janata Dal are contesting separately. Due to this, there is a three-way competition in the state.
In this case, former Prime Minister Deva Gowda has given an interview to a news agency regarding the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections and next year’s parliamentary elections. In it, “Our party stands on its own feet and faces the election. Our party stands for inclusive development. Kumaraswamy has completed a tour across the state to take the Pancharatna program to the people. He has been well received.
BJP and Congress claim that the secular Janata Dal has support only in Mysore region is a clever propaganda. Our party has MLAs across the state. People from all communities of the state hold positions in our party. Mysore region is the region where we have the most support. We will be grateful to those people for that. At the same time, our influence is increasing in other parts of the state. We do not hire companies at huge cost to counter the lies presented against our party. I have been in politics for over 60 years. God and people know who I am and what our party is like.
We are planning to form a separate government after winning 123 seats in this election. Some critics say that our goal is too big and difficult to achieve. We have set our goal based on hard work. We don’t care what other people say. Both BJP and Congress are spreading lies to people. This is usually what they do. Nothing more to say about them. I take my work seriously and continue to work even at the age of 91.
Congress should organize the party in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Opposition parties have various plans. All I can say is that it is very unfortunate that Rahul Gandhi was stripped of his MP post.
