Rahul Gandhi had started Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari on 7 September 2022.
Congress’s second Bharat Jodo Yatra may take place between December 2023 and February 2024. Rahul Gandhi will travel from Gujarat to Meghalaya. This time the journey will not only be on foot, but vehicles will also be used in the journey.
The route of this yatra was announced by Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole on August 8. Congress leader P. Chidambaram had said at a press conference in September that the party was planning the second phase of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
The first Bharat Jodo Yatra was from Kanyakumari to Srinagar.
Rahul Gandhi’s first Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7 September. It concluded on January 30 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. This journey lasted 145 days and covered a distance of about 3570 km.
This journey touched the borders of 14 states. These include Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi maintained distance from the media except during the press conference. However, he continued giving interviews to bloggers. In these interviews, Rahul kept answering questions ranging from politics to personal questions openly.
At the conclusion of the yatra in Srinagar, at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Rahul had said – I have done this yatra not for myself or for the Congress but for the people of the country. Our aim is to stand against an ideology that seeks to destroy the foundation of this country.
Rahul addressed 12 public meetings
During the visit, Rahul Gandhi addressed 12 meetings, held more than 100 meetings and 13 press conferences. He took part in more than 275 discussions while walking, whereas he had around 100 discussions while stopping somewhere.
Leaders, writers, military veterans join in
There was also participation from celebrities, writers, military veterans during the yatra. These included former Army Chief General (Retd) Deepak Kapoor, former Navy Chief Admiral (Retd) L Ramadoss and former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, former Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram.
Opposition leaders also participated in the yatra
Opposition leaders like National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti, Shiv Sena’s Aaditya Thackeray, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Sanjay Raut and NCP’s Supriya Sule also walked with Rahul at some places during the march.

Bollywood celebrities also attended Rahul’s visit
Many Bollywood celebrities also joined Rahul’s visit. These include Swara Bhaskar to Urmila Mantodkar. At the same time, Kamal Haasan was also seen with Rahul in South India.
There was participation from various sections of the society including film and TV personalities like Pooja Bhatt, Rhea Sen, Sushant Singh, Rashami Desai, Akanksha Puri and Amol Palekar.

Sister’s support in the journey: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi joined brother Rahul’s journey in Madhya Pradesh. In Khandwa, Rahul was seen in a very light mood with Priyanka and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

Mega show of Congress in Rajasthan: After reaching Rajasthan, the first Congress ruled state in the Hindi belt, Rahul had discussed with party president Mallikarjun Kharge. By this time it was becoming cold, but Rahul continued wearing only a white T-shirt. His beard had also become thick.

Connection with party workers: Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary, who was involved in the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jalandhar, Punjab, died of a heart attack. After this Rahul immediately postponed the trip and went to his house to express his condolences.
