Pilibhit. Unruly elements planted iron rods on the railway line going to Bareilly. When a passenger train passed at night, its engine hit the rebar. The train was stopped on this. After this, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and police station were informed. After removing the iron bars, the train left towards the destination.
Netrapal Singh, senior section engineer of North Eastern Railway, has lodged an FIR regarding this incident in Jehanabad police station. It was told that on Friday night someone placed an iron rod on the railway track of Km 267-2 between Pilibhit-Shahi stations. When the train (053-2) going from Pilibhit to Bareilly City reached there at 9.16 pm, the iron bars kept on the track collided with the engine. Due to which the train had to be stopped.
This could have caused a train accident. Some unknown person deliberately carried out this incident with the aim of causing harm to railway safety and life and property of passengers. The rebar is 12 mm thick and 25 feet long, which has been removed from the track and kept safe at Shahi station. Police say that after writing the FIR on the basis of the complaint, investigation has been started.
